Air comes first
A built-in Sub-Zero sheds its heat through a condenser behind the grille, and a condenser short of air makes every other part work harder. Sub-Zero’s schedule is a cleaning once or twice a year, oftener where a dog or cat lives, done with the unit turned off at its own control panel, a soft-bristle brush on a vacuum, and no chemical cleaner. When lint has matted the coil or the condenser fan has stalled, the compressor runs long, both compartments drift up on warm days, and the cabinet can look as if something expensive has failed. When the number is the question
